Sand is the best teacher
On tarmac, a mistake hurts. On sand, it mostly makes you laugh. That is why the Dubai desert is one of the best places in the world to learn to ride a dirt bike: soft landings, wide open space and dunes that reward balance more than speed.
Can a beginner ride a dirt bike in Dubai?
Yes. At Wild Adventures, beginners start with a lesson before heading into the dunes. An instructor shows you how to stand on the pegs, use the clutch and throttle smoothly, and read the sand ahead. You ride on easy terrain until you feel ready for more.
Bikes and prices
Our dirt bike rentals in Dubai start from AED 275 on a KTM 450. Experienced riders can rent and ride; beginners book a session with lesson time included.
Rules and minimum age
- The minimum age to ride is 16.
- A helmet, goggles, gloves and boots are essential.
- Every ride starts with a safety briefing.
The gear you need
Dirt biking asks more of your gear than a quad or buggy. Wear long trousers, a long-sleeve top and boots that cover the ankle. If you do not have your own, our shop for helmets, goggles and riding gear has what you need.
Five tips for your first ride
- Stand up on the pegs on rough sand — your legs are your suspension.
- Look where you want to go, not at the front wheel.
- Keep a steady throttle on climbs; stopping halfway is how you get stuck.
- Use the rear brake gently on descents.
- Take breaks and drink water, even in winter.
Not sure two wheels are for you?
