Get the team out of the office
Dubai has some of the best outdoor playgrounds in the world: red dunes 45 minutes from the city, long beaches and calm sea. From October to April the weather is perfect, and even in summer early mornings and nights stay open. Here are ten outdoor team building ideas, from calm to wild.
1. Dune buggy convoy

2. Quad bike relay
Short laps, one teammate after another, with a score at the end. Automatic quads make it easy for beginners. More on quad biking in Dubai.
3. Paintball in the desert
Two teams, one strategy and a lot of laughter. Played in daylight or at night under lights.
4. Dirt bike lesson
For smaller groups who want to learn something new together. An instructor starts with the basics on KTM dirt bikes.
5. 4×4 desert safari

6. Sandboarding challenge
Slide down the dunes on a board. Simple, funny and great for the group photo.
7. BBQ in a private tent
End the day around the fire with a BBQ in your own Bedouin tent set up in the dunes.
8. Beach games
Relay races, volleyball and tug of war on the sand. Best in winter, in the morning.
9. Kayak or paddle board session
A calm team activity on the water, good for wellbeing days.
10. Yacht afternoon

How to build the day
Mix one strong activity with time to eat and talk. A favourite format is a half day in the desert: buggies or quads, a team challenge, sunset, then BBQ.
